UK Nations 'Unanimous' In Relaxing Christmas Rules
It has been unanimously agreed by the UK’s four nations to keep to the relaxed Christmas Covid rules in place, but the prime minister has said some advice will change.
The relaxed rules will remain in place from 23rd December - 27th December, however stricter warnings will be issued in order to keep social contact to a minimum in a continued strive to contain COVID. Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon also said her government would be issuing stronger guidance on gatherings.
"The safest way to spend Christmas this year is to spend it in your own home with your own household - if you can do that, that is my strong recommendation," she said.
Earlier Boris Johnson said people must show "personal responsibility" and try to avoid contact with vulnerable people.
The relaxed rules allows travel between tiers and between UK nations to meet your bubble. You can only meet in homes, places of worship or public outdoor spaces - not pubs or restaurants.
